Halloween and Fireworks Night Fire Entertainment
Halloween and Fireworks Night Fire Entertainment

Our circus team were busy again this year with fire shows and circus skills at Halloween and Fireworks night.

We sent the fire dance team out with the amazing Lisa Sampson. hooping extrordinare, to one memorable evening at a lovely school in Lewes. They got to perform in front of a huge bonfire, it got rather toasty! They had to wait for the wind to change direction at one point for fear of being swallowed with the guy sat on top! Of course, Fairy Lily was in charge of setting up the camera so we could get the proof we worked with THE Lisa Sampson (keep an eye on Briatin's Got Talent this year....) and of course, Lily forgot to press the record button. But luckily Fairy Louisa was in the audience having finished her fairy party early and sneaking over the hedge (who's going to stop a fairy from sneaking in?!) and she managed to get some photos with her phone. If anyone has any other footage we'd love to see it!

Following this we thought we'd give Lily another chance, and so the next fire show she was again in charge of the camera. This time she forgot the tripod and had to boj a stand together involving a piece of the car, a modelling balloon, and a precariously balanced stand on top of a full water fountain. Thankfully this actually worked and after being reminded by Toxi to actually switch the thing on we have some good video of the show! I'll be editing this later on and attaching below.

Now we're all back in rehearsals for the pantomime which will be performed at numerous parties before Christmas (quickly book now and get a free tablet, includes our circus parties too! Rehearsals for Maycroft Manor Private Event

Rehearsals for Maycroft Manor Private Event

Well rehearsals are in full force as we put together a new show fit for the kings and queens at Maycroft
Manor in Brighton, we thought we'd have a nice change to the drum and bass music and go for some more traditional tunes.

After lots of research (done on Facebook obviously!) we came up with the following set list:
Drumming for the body burning set
Singing in the Rain for Lily's solo fire poi performance (she just had to keep from doing her tap routine to this one)
Little Bitty Pretty One for Toxi's LED hoop solo piece (we all waved our hands Matilda style!)
Eternal Remix for our fire hoop routine
All About That Bass for our brand new staff routine (see video)
And not forgetting some Johnny Cash 'Ring of Fire' for our fire ropes finale!

Channel 4 Filming

Channel 4 Filming

So much fun filming with Channel 4 'Four In A Bed' show. We had to hide as we brought in our kit to set up before everyone arrived so as to get the best reaction as eveyone walked in to see they would be doing circus skills. Which of course had to be filmed twice for that perfect reaction.

We'd roped in Neilon to do a human pyramid with them and were told to bring our kit to do circus skills afterwards. They decided on balloon modelling as a fun skill to learn and Lily took to the stage to teach everyone the basic balloon dog before judging them all 'Crufts' style and having a whale of a time!

They only ended up using Neilon's human pyramid and our arrival and performing shots but a bloody good day was had by all and we got new costumes and jackets out of it as well - see if you spot us in our new rainbow outfits!

Circus Showtime

Circus Showtime

We were commissioned to create 4 brand new shows which included two new circus shows for a private festival weekend and jumped at the chance!

The first show sees all our circus performers being stuck on the M25 and not being able to arrive, we wanted to keep it realistic, and so our ringmaster and sweeper needed to enlist the help of the audience for the show - this went down a storm and we had so much fun rehearsing it (and Lily had to step in to tell everyone off for getting a bit too frantic in rehearsals!)

The second show was along a more traditional line, we kept the clown/ringmaster relationship and added glow shows, multi hoops and even fire performances for this amazing mini big top tent show. Check out the video, we can't wait to roll these new shows out for everyone to enjoy. Alongside a Swashbuckle Show and Fairy Pantomime all written by Lily we've had a busy year!
